We can have teachers and helpers. But the seeker is you. The believer is you. The act-er and choose-er is you.
You will not walk through any doorway "out there". The doorway is you.
The doorway to safety and sanctuary is (in) you.
The doorway to abundance is you.
The doorway to peace is you.
The doorway to intimacy is you.
You don't have to roam far and wide. You don't have to depend on the condition of others and things and circumstance. You don't have to keep looking for the 'next' thing or the thing that will 'work'.
It's you. Yes, life is a process. Yes, we seek our gifts. Yes, we are on a journey and we often can only see just the step ahead, and sometimes not even that. Yes, we often have to exercise a lot of patience over a lot of time.
But the beginning and the end is you. Your life is you, and you are your life.
Sit quietly and breathe and look gently inside. Look at all the doors within you. What is closed? What is open?
Stand before a closed door that you want to open, and put your trembling yet brave hand (and heart) on the doorknob. Even if you have to rest like that for a long time, at least get hold of the doorknob. Be willing, be ready, be vulnerable.
Then start to turn the knob and move the door slowly on its hinges . . .
